My Poems

Below, you’ll find some of my poems. I’ve always enjoyed writing. Be it poems, songs or stories. I feel that the soul is expressed in creative endeavors like this. Enjoy yourself and welcome to my soul. ~ Cathie

It's a good day today
By: Cathie Cardwell ~ 21 January 2008

I love the mornings
The world quiet and dark slowly emerging into light
The full moon reflecting the side of a white barked leafless tree
Hot creamy hazelnut coffee in my hand
Dog at my feet
I hear my husband's sleeping breath
I'm so thankful he found me
I would have been so lost at a time like this
Don't cry
The sun is rising beyond the kitchen window
To the right…stand on your tiptoes and lean over the sink, see it?
Beautiful light reflecting through my whimsical's of cobalt blue, pink and amber
Cozy in my world
Safe for now
It's a good day…today.

Anger…don't get the best of me
By: Cathie Cardwell ~ 21 January 2008

Anger…don't get the best of me
Leave me alone for a moment…
Don't remind me of my lost vigor
My fading beauty, my fire, my me.
Let me rest for a while away from this pain inside
This feeling of hopelessness and fear
Anger…don't get the best of me.
Stand behind me and I'll call you when you're needed
Yes, you have purpose; you give me my ability to fight
But, I'm tired for now…and I have to put my happy face on
So, let's just take a break…
