This website was created out of a desire to share my experiences with other women that are facing a battle with cancer. Most of us in that club are mentally ill-prepared for the upcoming battle. We might be aware of the spiritual growth potential that a cancer diagnosis offers, but might need someone to help point the way. I hope that by opening my soul and thoughts to the world that you gain some strength. That one of my experiences, or as a whole, causes you to understand what a wonderful life we all share and you too become enlightened by cancer.
I initially started a journal of my personal experiences. That journal was used in the building of this website. The Enlightened By Cancer website takes you through the day of the reading of my post-chemo PET/CT scan. There is much more and will be much more.
My husband developed this website from my words, thoughts, photos, and poems. I was the source and inspiration, but he was the guy behind the scenes that did all the website design and graphics. Putting my often random thoughts into some kind of logical order.... or least in one that allows flow to a website. We’ve discussed how to continue this story. How to continue to express this journey to others. Rand stated that if we continue in the manner that the website is currently designed that we would end up with hundreds of pages. He suggested the blog to me. After he explained it, I was in agreement.
